Faith

Learning, Faith and Community are important at St. Mary’s. We believe a child learns best when they are immersed in a caring community that believes in them and one where learning is illuminated by our faith.

We promote faith and life integration through the development of the whole child spiritually, intellectually, morally, physically, socially and emotionally. Our Christian values permeate all we do and we strive to ensure our children follow in the teachings of Jesus and have a strong sense of compassion and justice.

Our school is immersed in the traditions of the Josephite Sisters who capably led the school for many years. Mary is our patron saint leading us to always be people of trust and faith. Mary MacKillop is a role model and we follow her vision of never seeing a need without addressing it encouraging our students to live and take action in their lives.

Pope Francis continues to guide and lead our school community as he values and promotes children as signs of light and hope in our world.

“Young people call us to renewed and expansive hope, for they represent new directions for humanity and open us up to the future…..” (Pope Francis 2013)

We are passionate about protecting and enhancing God’s wonderful creations ensuring our students value and strive to be citizens with a love of nature and the world taking action and building a sustainable future for all.

“We are stewards, not masters of the earth. Each of us has a personal responsibility to care for the precious gift of God’s creation.” Pope Francis

Catholic Social Teachings guide and lead the faith development in our school. We work for the common good of all, ensuring respect for the dignity of each person and working for subsidiarity and solidarity for all.
